Job Description

Corewell Health is a leading healthcare system dedicated to providing exceptional and personalized healthcare services to patients, members, and communities. With a strong mission to improve health, instill humanity, and inspire hope, Corewell Health represents a nationally recognized health system that fosters collaboration, leadership, and innovation among its teams. This well-established organization is committed to cultivating and investing in its employees, offering comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth in a supportive work environment. Corewell Health is renowned for its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, promoting a safe and welcoming workplace where all team members can bring their whole selves to work.

The part-time role at Butterworth Hospital, located at 100 Michigan St NE in Grand Rapids, provides an essential function within Corewell Health's supply chain and material management operations. This position involves varied responsibilities related to the handling of equipment, materials, linens, and supplies, ensuring that these items are managed efficiently and are readily available across hospital departments. The scheduled work hours are from 5 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on variable days, including every other weekend, emphasizing the need for flexibility and commitment. The role also requires travel between Butterworth and Blodgett hospitals, highlighting the dynamic nature of the job.

The primary responsibilities include inventory management, receiving and delivering supplies, and maintaining orderly stock areas. Using computer-based inventory systems, the employee will respond promptly to requisitions from various hospital units for supplies and equipment, either dispensing directly or ordering from third-party vendors. Attention to detail is critical when breaking down delivery carts, packing orders, and following safety protocols for delivery and handling. The role demands physical activity, including loading and unloading goods, sometimes requiring the use of forklifts or pallet jacks.

Corewell Health values this role highly as it directly supports frontline healthcare staff by ensuring that all necessary materials and equipment are available, properly stored, and efficiently distributed. This ultimately contributes to superior patient care and operational excellence. New hires will undergo orientation and an introductory period to ensure a smooth transition into the team and alignment with organizational standards.

Working at Corewell Health also offers notable benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package tailored to support employees financially, health-wise, and in maintaining work-life balance. Employees benefit from on-demand pay programs, discount directories on various lifestyle needs, optional insurance options, and retirement savings plans with employer contributions. The organization's commitment to creating an inclusive, drug-free workplace with vaccination requirements underscores its emphasis on safety and wellbeing.

Joining Corewell Health as a part-time supply chain team member is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to develop their careers in healthcare material management while contributing to an essential supporting role within a respected health system. The job is suited for detail-oriented, proactive individuals with a commitment to excellence, reliability, and teamwork.
