Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred
  • Two to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Relies on written and verbal communication
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from terminal managers, employees, customers, and the public
  • Communicates internally with operations and office staff, and externally with service centers, sales force, agents, customers, and service providers
  • Specific industry or position skills
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics
  • Preferred knowledge of AS/400, McLeod, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience supervising and managing the selection, training, development, and appraisal of personnel
  • Average typing, filing and ten key skills
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people both inside and outside the company
  • High degree of responsibility handling confidential information
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
  • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

Job Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills for internal and external interactions
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize assignments effectively
  • Ability to apply logical and scientific thinking to problem-solving

Job Duties

  • Plan and coordinate daily loads moving within the line haul network
  • Coordinate Roadrunner Freight independent contractors and purchased power resources
  • Manage and communicate daily with assigned independent contractors
  • Assess earnings and maximize earnings potential of assigned contractors
  • Review and assign loads using planning tools prioritizing contractor fleet
  • Utilize pre-planning to book future loads complying with hours of service
  • Negotiate rates with outside purchased power carriers
  • Communicate load availability and troubleshoot operational issues
  • Collaborate with other line haul coordinators for load coverage
  • Validate load plan execution and promote cost-effective service improvements
