Job Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1-2 years of food service or hospitality industry experience preferred
  • Basic math skills required
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English required
  • Ability to work well under time constraints and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to manage stress in a high-volume environment
  • Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment
  • Strong guest service and interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Apply thorough knowledge, understanding and application of culinary techniques to consistently execute menu items
  • Monitor all meals being served for appearance, quality standards, portion control and temperature standards
  • Ensure all stations are properly set prior to service and sufficient supply of high-quality mis-en-place is prepared for the next shift
  • Uphold safety standards by safely using kitchen equipment and reporting injuries on time
  • Assist the Chef and Sous Chef in controlling food and labor costs and managing purchasing, receiving, and inventory
  • Ensure meal and rest breaks are available and accurately recorded
  • Assist in establishing par levels and conducting inventories
  • Properly label, date, rotate and store products to ensure food safety and sanitation compliance
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of production and merchandising areas
  • Communicate effectively with management, guests, and team members to address needs and resolve issues
  • Utilize the point-of-sale system to process take-out orders
  • Bag orders efficiently while preserving quality and presentation
  • Set the tone for the shift and take responsibility for shift results
  • Secure the building at closing, ensuring all doors, safe, and alarm systems are secured
  • Perform other job-related duties as necessary
