Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • At least 21 years of age
  • 1-2 years of food service or hospitality experience preferred
  • Basic math skills required
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to perform in a high-volume environment
  • Ability to work under time constraints
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and be mobile for extended periods
  • Ability to use kitchen equipment safely
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus

Job Duties

  • Apply thorough knowledge, understanding and application of culinary techniques to consistently execute menu items
  • Monitor all meals being served for appearance, quality standards, portion control and temperature standards in accordance with the established policies and procedures
  • Ensure all stations are properly set prior to service and ensure sufficient supply of high-quality mis-en-place is set for the next shift
  • Support a culture of safety by upholding safety standards and reporting injuries on time
  • Safely use all kitchen equipment and apply advanced knife skills
  • Ensure kitchen equipment is properly cleaned, maintained and functioning
  • Assist the Chef and the Sous Chef in controlling food and labor costs as well as purchasing, receiving, purveyor lists and inventory
  • Ensure meal and rest breaks are made available to Team Members
  • Accurately record meal times using the time clock
  • Assist in establishing proper par levels of finished products and ingredients and conduct inventories
  • Properly label, date, rotate and store all products for food handling and sanitation compliance
  • Ensure production and merchandising area is clean, safe and presentable
  • Communicate effectively with management and assist with Guests’ and Team Members’ needs and inquiries
  • Utilize the POS system to enter guest orders and complete sales
  • Bag orders efficiently and neatly ensuring quality and presentation
  • Set the tone for the shift and assume responsibility for shift results
  • Secure the building at closing including locking the safe, doors and setting the alarm
  • Perform other job-related duties as necessary
