  • 1-2 years of food service or hospitality industry experience preferred

Job Duties

  • apply thorough knowledge, understanding and application of culinary techniques to consistently execute menu items
  • monitor all meals being served for appearance, quality standards, portion control and temperature standards in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • ensure all stations are properly set prior to service and ensure sufficient supply of high-quality mis-en-place is set for the next shift
  • support a culture of safety by upholding safety standards and reporting injuries promptly
  • assist the Chef and Sous Chef in controlling food and labor costs, purchasing, receiving, purveyor lists and inventory of all kitchen items
  • ensure meal and rest breaks are made available and properly recorded
  • assist in establishing proper par levels and conduct inventories for proper ordering
  • properly label, date, rotate and store all products to ensure food handling, shelf life and sanitation compliance
  • maintain clean, safe and presentable production and merchandising areas
  • communicate effectively with management and respond to guests and team members' needs and inquiries
  • utilize POS system to accurately take orders and complete sales
  • bag orders efficiently preserving item quality and presentation
  • set the tone for the shift and assume responsibility for shift results
  • secure building at closing including locking safe, doors and setting alarm
  • perform other job-related duties as necessary
