Job Requirements
- Minimum of 6 months experience as a prep cook or line cook in a fast-paced fast-casual or full-service restaurant
- Current Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certificate
- Ability to stand in one place for hours at a time
- Ability to handle extreme heat and work shifts
- Knowledge of safety procedures including safe food temperatures
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain composure in high-stress environments
Job Qualifications
- Current Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certificate
- Minimum of 6 months experience as a prep cook or line cook in a fast-paced fast-casual or full-service restaurant
- Knowledge of safety procedures including safe temperatures for storing and preparing food
- Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate on complex dishes
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with waitstaff, dishwashers, management, and sometimes customers
- Calm demeanor to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
- Accountability for preparing dishes to management and customer expectations
- Good comprehension and organization skills to follow recipes and direct orders
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for knife techniques and food preparation
Job Duties
- Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh
- Follow recipes including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients
- Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry, and other foods
- Present, garnish and arrange final dishes
- Maintain a clean and safe work area including handling utensils, equipment, and dishes
- Handle and store ingredients and food
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
