Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months experience as a prep cook or line cook in a fast-paced fast-casual or full-service restaurant
  • Current Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certificate
  • Ability to stand in one place for hours at a time
  • Ability to handle extreme heat and work shifts
  • Knowledge of safety procedures including safe food temperatures
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain composure in high-stress environments

Job Qualifications

  • Current Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certificate
  • Minimum of 6 months experience as a prep cook or line cook in a fast-paced fast-casual or full-service restaurant
  • Knowledge of safety procedures including safe temperatures for storing and preparing food
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate on complex dishes
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with waitstaff, dishwashers, management, and sometimes customers
  • Calm demeanor to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
  • Accountability for preparing dishes to management and customer expectations
  • Good comprehension and organization skills to follow recipes and direct orders
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for knife techniques and food preparation

Job Duties

  • Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh
  • Follow recipes including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients
  • Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry, and other foods
  • Present, garnish and arrange final dishes
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area including handling utensils, equipment, and dishes
  • Handle and store ingredients and food
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
