Job Requirements

  • Current Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certificate
  • Minimum six months experience as a prep cook or line cook in fast-paced fast-casual or full-service restaurant
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to handle extreme heat
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Good interpersonal communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of safety procedures including safe temperatures for ingredients and food preparation
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate on complex dishes
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with waitstaff, dishwashers, management, and sometimes customers
  • Calm demeanor to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
  • Accountability for prepared dishes meeting management and customer expectations
  • Comprehension and organization to follow orders and recipes
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for knife techniques
  • Ability to stand for hours and handle extreme heat
  • Current Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certificate

Job Duties

  • Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh
  • Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients
  • Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry, and other foods
  • Present, garnish and arrange final dishes
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment, and dishes
  • Handle and store ingredients and food
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
