Our establishment is a vibrant Mediterranean restaurant located in the Victorville and Apple Valley area, renowned for delivering authentic Mediterranean cuisine made from fresh, high-quality ingredients. We are currently seeking a dedicated Cook & Prep Team Member to join our kitchen team. This opportunity suits both full-time and part-time applicants and offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $18.00 to $21.00. Reporting directly to the Kitchen Manager and the Owner, this role is central to maintaining the high standards of food quality and consistency that define our restaurant. The cook will be responsible for the preparation of Mediterranean dishes such as shawarma, kabob, falafel, rice, salads, dips, and sides, following detailed recipes and plating guidelines to ensure every dish meets our quality expectations.
This role requires a candidate who is not only skilled in food preparation and cooking but also highly organized and detail-oriented to maintain a clean and sanitized workstation. The Cook & Prep Team Member will efficiently handle tasks including chopping vegetables and herbs, marinating meats, preparing garlic sauce, hummus, rice, and dressings, as well as managing ingredient portioning and storage with food safety standards such as ServSafe in mind. They will also assist with stock deliveries and maintain smooth communication with kitchen staff to ensure a seamless service during peak hours.
Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a cook in a food service setting, with Mediterranean cuisine experience being a distinct advantage. This position demands strong knife skills, the ability to work quickly without compromising food quality, and the physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds. Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Prepare and cook Mediterranean dishes including shawarma, kabob, falafel, rice, salads, dips, and sides
- Follow recipes, portion standards, and plating requirements to ensure consistency
- Marinate meats and prepare daily batches of garlic sauce, hummus, rice, and dressings
- Grill, saute, fry, and assemble plates according to restaurant standards
- Ensure all food leaving the kitchen meets quality, taste, and presentation expectations
- Chop vegetables, herbs, and toppings with precision and care
- Portion ingredients for the line and maintain daily par levels
- Label, date, and store ingredients according to health and safety guidelines
- Assist with receiving and organizing stock deliveries
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized workstation at all times
- Follow all food safety regulations (ServSafe standards)
- Support dishwashing and cleaning duties when needed
- Communicate clearly with the team to ensure smooth service
- Monitor food temperatures, equipment usage, and prep levels throughout the day
