The establishment offers a diverse range of camping options, including RVs, Cabins, Deluxe Cabins, and tent camping, providing a comprehensive outdoor experience suitable for a wide variety of guests. This resort is well recognized for its commitment to creating memorable and enjoyable camping experiences for all visitors, focusing heavily on customer service and hospitality to ensure every guest leaves with a positive impression. Operating as an award-winning facility, the San Diego KOA combines the natural beauty of its surroundings with the convenience and comfort of well-maintained accommodations and amenities.
Within the resort, the Sand Castle Café stands out as the onsite restaurant catering to guests’ dining needs. Open seven days a week during the busy summer season, and operating on a reduced schedule from October to April, this café offers a varied menu that ranges from breakfast burritos and lattes to handmade pizzas and local craft beer selections. The café not only serves guests daily but also hosts specialized catering events throughout the year, enhancing the overall guest experience and showcasing local flavors and culinary creativity.
The role available is seasonal, starting mid-April, and reports directly to the Food & Beverage Manager. It is a part-time position, offering between 10 to 30 hours weekly based on park occupancy. Working hours mainly cover Thursday to Sunday evenings, although flexibility in availability is considered a plus. Training will occur in the mornings. Compensation starts at $18.50 per hour, with potential increases depending on experience, including pooled tips. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a dynamic, outdoor environment, engaging with guests, and contributing to a vibrant team focused on excellence in food service and guest satisfaction.
The person in this role will be critical in ensuring that customers receive a high standard of service aligned with the resort’s customer service philosophy. Responsibilities include not only meal preparation and food service but also enforcing campground policies, managing guest concerns proactively, coordinating with guest service staff, and engaging in creative problem-solving to maintain a positive and welcoming environment. The individual must be adept at using a variety of kitchen appliances, maintaining cleanliness and health standards, handling cash transactions, and assisting with inventory management. The role blends culinary skills with interpersonal and administrative strengths, making it a perfect opportunity for candidates interested in food service within a unique and picturesque outdoor resort setting.
