Job Description

Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group originated from a small restaurant located in the Mid-City neighborhood of New Orleans and has since grown into a well-established company operating two distinct brands, Ruby Slipper and Ruby Sunshine. Today, the group manages more than 20 restaurants across the Southeast region of the United States and continues to expand its footprint. The brand is dedicated to bringing the spirit and soul of New Orleans to every dish, focusing on a vibrant brunch experience that captures the essence of the city's culinary heritage. Known for its commitment to quality, authenticity, and community, Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group embodies the rich culture and savory indulgence that New Orleans is famous for.

This particular position is a unique opportunity to become a vital part of the Ruby Krewe, the team that drives the successful breakfast and lunch operations of the Ruby Slipper and Ruby Sunshine concepts. The role focuses on the preparation of hot food items and the completion of food portions prior to cooking. It also includes final plate assembly involving plating, garnishing, and ensuring that served dishes meet the renowned Ruby standards. Employees in this role take pride in maintaining the highest levels of food quality, presentation, and workspace cleanliness, all while contributing to an energetic and welcoming restaurant atmosphere.

Working at Ruby Slipper means embracing a fast-paced environment that values teamwork, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for Southern cuisine. The company promotes a culture where the belief that "butter and bacon make everything better" is not just a saying but a philosophy. To succeed here, one must rigorously follow established recipes, portion control, and cooking methods to ensure consistency and excellence across all menu items. Physical stamina is important, as the position requires standing for lengthy periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and engaging in continuous activity. Effective communication skills are essential to coordinate smoothly with both the kitchen staff and front-of-house team members.

An attractive feature of this employment opportunity is the "We Do Days!" policy, which means all shifts are scheduled only during breakfast and lunch, allowing employees to make money while still having their evenings free. This benefit appeals to individuals seeking a healthy work-life balance and those who appreciate the chance to be home in time for dinner with family or personal pursuits.

The company also values development and offers numerous benefits including medical and dental insurance, paid time off, family meal vouchers, and discounts. Additionally, Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group encourages career growth by providing opportunities for advancement and pay increases within the company. This supportive culture and comprehensive benefits package make this role an exciting and rewarding career choice for anyone passionate about food preparation within a successful and expanding restaurant group.
