The role of Prep Cook at Salt Lake Brewing Co LC involves assisting Chefs and other kitchen staff in the preparation of menu items, ensuring all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. This position is critical in supporting the kitchen's smooth operation by maintaining clean and organized workstations, managing food temperatures, and adhering strictly to food safety guidelines. Prep Cooks will be responsible for setting up and stocking their stations, coordinating with other cooks and management during busy periods, and ensuring that all menu items meet the company's rigorous recipe and presentation standards. This position offers both full-time and part-time employment, classified under a non-exempt hourly pay structure. Reporting directly to the Chef on Duty, Prep Cooks play an essential role in upholding the brand’s commitment to customer satisfaction and food quality. Job Duties
- Prepares all menu items with adherence to recipes and presentation standards
- supports brand by protecting food quality
- sets up and stocks station at start of shift
- stocks ingredients during shift
- monitors food temperatures
- manages kitchen equipment temperatures
- maintains cleanliness and condition of kitchen equipment
- assists management and line cooks during busy periods
- coordinates food preparation timing with team members
- manages timing for pantry, pizza, grill or fry stations
- stocks cook line, freezers and coolers
- cleans station and restocks at end of shift
- completes janitorial tasks
- demonstrates teamwork
- communicates effectively
- ensures a safe workplace environment
- maintains harassment-free workplace
- follows all food safety and sanitation practices
- performs other related duties as assigned
