Red Oak Assisted Living is currently seeking a Cook who will bring passion, creativity, and attention to detail to its culinary team. The Cook role is integral to the community, tasked with preparing meals that not only meet nutritional standards but also delight residents with quality and presentation. The position emphasizes culinary mastery, requiring the creation of dishes that adhere to established recipes and gastronomic standards, while showcasing skills in plating and food aesthetics. This role will also be responsible for maintaining rigorous quality and safety compliance standards, including temperature monitoring and adherence to sanitation protocols, ensuring that food safety is never compromised.
Beyond meal preparation, this role involves active participation in kitchen operations management, including inventory oversight and collaboration with the Chef and Food & Beverage Director to optimize food service delivery. In addition to hands-on cooking duties, the Cook will contribute to organizing kitchen storage areas and dishwashing zones, fostering a clean, efficient, and collaborative work environment. The position champions a first-in, first-out food rotation system to guarantee freshness and quality while supporting ongoing skill development initiatives within the culinary team.
The ideal candidate for the Cook position will have prior experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a restaurant or similar setting, and demonstrate a commitment to positivity, endurance, and continual learning.
