The role of Banquet Cook at Ridglea Country Club is pivotal to the food service operations during banquet events. Under the guidance of the Executive Chef and Banquet Sous Chef, the Banquet Cook is responsible for the preparation and production of all banquet food offerings. This role demands a high level of culinary skill and attention to detail to ensure that each dish meets the club’s stringent standards of quality, presentation, and taste.

The Banquet Cook oversees daily food production specifically tailored for banquets, managing food costs and minimizing waste by adhering strictly to recipes and standard operating procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of mise en place and the ability to efficiently prepare the correct quantities for each event while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards. Professionalism and excellent communication are essential as the cook coordinates closely with the kitchen leadership and the production team to meet the dynamic needs of each banquet.

Responsibilities include maintaining the organization of the kitchen area, ensuring proper labeling and storage of items according to FIFO guidelines, and adhering to safety and hygiene protocols at all times. The Banquet Cook also plays an important role in upholding the club’s 5Cs, consistently demonstrating cleanliness, courtesy, consistency, cooperation, and communication in all aspects of work. By participating in monthly kitchen meetings and ongoing communication with culinary management, the cook contributes to continual improvement of food production processes and guest satisfaction.

Job Requirements

  • Prior experience as a banquet or line cook
