As part of Shawarma Guys’ dynamic kitchen team, the Line Cook or Prep Cook role presents an excellent opportunity for dependable, motivated individuals to contribute to the restaurant's continued success and growth. The position is part-time and pays a starting rate of $19.00 per hour after successfully completing the introductory hiring period. Employees also share tips averaging between $3.00 and $6.00 per hour, which varies by location. The company has designed a structured growth plan offering potential wage increases of up to an additional $3.00 per hour within 14 months, with advancement opportunities into Assistant-level roles earning up to $24.00 per hour.

The Line Cook / Prep Cook is responsible for preparing and executing all menu items according to company recipes and standards. Key duties include performing daily prep of proteins, marinades, sides, and other ingredients with accuracy and efficiency; ensuring proper food weights, measurements, and portion control; maintaining ingredient levels and communicating restocking needs; following standardized recipes without deviation; and plating and presenting food with great care and attention to quality. Maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation is critical, as is working collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service operations. Employees must strictly adhere to food safety and sanitation protocols, assist with inventory control and supply organization, and maintain full compliance with health and safety regulations.

Candidates for this role should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a fast-casual or high-volume kitchen environment, with strong knife skills and prep experience. Experience grilling, slicing beef and poultry, meat grinding, and frying is essential as is comfort using digital tools and completing morning, mid, and evening checklists. The ability to follow directions and maintain company standards is crucial, along with working independently with minimal supervision. A strong tolerance for working under pressure is necessary, alongside a professional, respectful, and team-oriented attitude. Lifting 50+ pounds safely on a repeated basis is required, as well as reliable access to a personal phone for scheduling and communication.
