The Line Cook position at Over Easy plays a crucial role in ensuring that every dish served meets the highest standards of quality, food safety, and presentation. This is a hands-on role involving preparing a wide variety of food items using equipment such as knives, electric mixers, immersion blenders, food processors, scales, ovens, gas stoves, griddles, and broilers. The Line Cook will be responsible for being well-acquainted with all menu items, recipes, and plating guidelines, as well as adhering to sanitation and safety regulations to maintain a clean, organized workstation. This role demands a good balance of efficiency and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment, with a commitment to teamwork and communication for smooth kitchen operations.

Job Requirements

  • minimum of 1 year of experience in the restaurant industry
  • at least 6 months experience in a high-volume restaurant setting preferred
  • able to communicate clearly with teammates and management
  • able to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 50 pounds
  • able to work in standing position up to 10 hours
  • at least 16 years of age
  • authorized to work in the US

Job Duties

  • ensure quality, food safety, sanitation, and timeliness of dishes served
  • be well-acquainted with menu items, recipes, plating guidelines, and safety information
  • prepare a variety of food items using knives, mixers, blenders, food processors, scales, and portion bags
  • prepare foods for service using ovens, gas stoves, griddles, and broilers
  • maintain a clean and sanitary work station and working area
  • handle all products properly in accordance with health department standards and company guidelines
