The Line Cook position at Oak View Group offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to the exceptional food service experience attendees enjoy during events. In this role, the Line Cook is responsible for preparing fresh, high-quality food in a timely manner, following specific company recipes and portion controls, and often engaging directly with the public in areas such as buffet lines or made-to-order dish preparation. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in cooking or food preparation highly preferred
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and events
- Valid food handler's certification if required
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks
Job Qualifications
- Previous cook or prep cook experience highly preferred
- Able to operate standard kitchen equipment including broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, and chef knife
- Ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and cooperatively with employees, management, and guests
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
- Possess valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations
- ServSafe certification preferred
Job Duties
- Provide high-quality fresh food products in a timely manner
- Prepare hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements
- Participate as a team player in preparation, service, and delivery of food products
- Report any maintenance required for kitchen equipment
- Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
- Observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking
- Portion, arrange, and garnish food plates for delivery
- Consult with Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Supervisor to plan menus and estimate food consumption
- Demonstrate excellent attendance standards
