Job Description

Oak View Group (OVG) is recognized as the global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services. Since its founding in 2015, the company has expanded its influence across four continents, managing a diverse portfolio of seven world-class owned venues and serving iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions. OVG specializes in venue development, management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales, building a robust platform designed to elevate the live entertainment experience for millions of people worldwide. Their dedication to innovation and excellence in live event services places them at the forefront of the industry, making them a highly sought-after employer for those passionate about entertainment and event production.

The part-time Line Cook position at Oak View Group presents an exciting opportunity to work within the dynamic environment of Colorado State University’s athletic events. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in high-volume food service operations while participating in some of the most thrilling collegiate sports events of the year. Begun with the football season opener on September 5th, the position demands flexibility and commitment, with typical shifts ranging from 9 to 12 hours on game days depending on the assigned location. The Line Cook will be expected to work all seven home football games during the season, although exceptions can be made under certain circumstances. Additional opportunities to work at catering events may also arise, offering variety and additional experience in food preparation and service.

The role requires mastery in preparing high-quality, fresh food products efficiently and according to company standards. Responsibilities include following precise recipes and portioning guidelines, maintaining exceptional sanitation and safety standards, and collaborating with team members to provide excellent service to guests. The Line Cook must be able to perform tasks that include preparing hot and cold foods, observing and testing food for quality, portioning and garnishing plates, and reporting maintenance needs for kitchen equipment. Furthermore, collaboration with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Supervisor in menu planning and consumption estimation is an essential element of this position.

This job offers a competitive hourly wage between $21.00 and $25.00, making it an attractive option for students or culinary professionals seeking flexible, part-time employment. Beyond salary, OVG extends benefits to part-time workers, including a 401(k) savings plan complete with company matching to help employees prepare for their financial future. Moreover, part-time, seasonal, and internship employees accrue paid leave at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours annually, providing additional time off benefits usually unavailable in similar positions.

Working at Oak View Group means joining a culture deeply committed to diversity and inclusion. OVG understands that diverse teams fuel innovation, enhance service quality, and elevate organizational excellence. This dedication is reflected in their hiring practices and workplace environment, where they promote equal opportunity employment without discrimination based on protected classes as defined under federal, state, or local law. As such, this Line Cook role not only provides professional growth but also places employees in a workplace that respects and celebrates diverse backgrounds.

In summary, this role is an exceptional opportunity for motivated candidates eager to contribute to a fast-paced, event-driven team environment. The Line Cook at OVG will benefit from working at one of the nation’s most respected live event companies, gaining hands-on experience in food preparation and service while enjoying competitive pay and meaningful employee benefits within a supportive and inclusive culture.
