The company embraces a servant leadership philosophy, ensuring that both employees and guests are treated with respect and care, fostering a positive work culture and an enjoyable dining atmosphere. As a fast-growing brand, Fish City Grill operates multiple locations and continues to expand, emphasizing training, quality standards, and teamwork among its staff members. The establishment values safety, cleanliness, and adherence to food safety regulations to maintain its reputation for excellence in seafood cuisine.
The role of the Prep/Line Cook at Fish City Grill is integral to maintaining the high culinary standards that customers expect. This position requires an individual who takes pride in preparing, cooking, and presenting seafood dishes according to the restaurant's specifications. As a Prep/Line Cook, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and sanitary work environment throughout your shift while efficiently managing all kitchen tasks to support a smooth operation. This includes strictly complying with company policies, health regulations, and food safety guidelines to protect both customers and employees.
Candidates for this position should be motivated by the restaurant's servant leadership philosophy, putting the needs of customers and team members first and maintaining a positive attitude with enthusiasm and passion for food preparation. The role demands attention to detail in following recipes, using kitchen equipment properly, and maintaining food quality standards such as portion control and timely ticket flow. The Prep/Line Cook will also participate in stock management activities including receiving, rotating, and storing ingredients according to FIFO (First In, First Out) methods, and help keep inventory organized and accessible.
The position offers the opportunity to grow professionally within a dynamic kitchen environment, with responsibilities extending beyond cooking to include assisting with opening and closing side work, supporting fellow cooks, and providing excellent hospitality to all customers encountered. Flexibility and a team-oriented mindset are critical, as cooks are expected to learn multiple stations and contribute to a collaborative work atmosphere especially during high-volume periods.
Physical requirements of the job include standing, walking, lifting heavy objects regularly, and maintaining balance in a fast-paced kitchen setting. Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently yet cohesively with the team are essential. While the company prefers candidates with a culinary degree or equivalent, individuals with relevant experience in full-service restaurants and a strong work ethic are encouraged to apply.
