Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous cooking experience preferred but not required as training is provided
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
- Availability to work flexible shifts as scheduled
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
- Commitment to food safety and hygiene standards
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in a line cook position or similar role within the food industry is preferred
- Strong culinary skills with knowledge of cooking techniques and food preparation methods
- Familiarity with dietary department operations or dietary aide roles is beneficial
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of food safety
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a busy kitchen environment
- A passion for cooking and a desire to continually learn and improve culinary skills
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
Job Duties
- Ensure that every meal that leaves our kitchen lives up to our standards of quality
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures at all times
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours
- Manage inventory of kitchen supplies and ingredients, reporting any shortages or needs
- Present yourself in a professional manner, including following all uniform guidelines
- Maintain the cleanliness of food prep areas at all times and follow food sanitation standards to the letter
