Job Requirements

  • 1 year of previous experience in a related or supportive role preferred
  • ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally
  • ability to deal diplomatically with difficult situations and people maintaining professionalism
  • physical ability to perform tasks including balancing, reaching, twisting, standing, walking, lifting 10-25lbs constantly, lifting up to 50lbs frequently, and lifting 75-100+lbs minimally
  • mental ability to produce detailed work, verbally communicate, handle multiple tasks and interruptions
  • willingness to work in a kitchen environment with exposure to heat, odors, fumes, grease, noise, and use of sharp tools and kitchen equipment
  • availability to work flexible shifts based on business needs including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience in a related or supportive position preferred
  • proficiency in cooking including garde manger, saute station, fry station, and grill station
  • ability to work effectively during all meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and brunch
  • experience with time management and organizational skills for high quality food production
  • food handler certification if applicable
  • trained in knife skills and basic kitchen equipment
  • ability to multi-task under pressure
  • flexible schedule availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • follow departmental policies and restaurant rules and regulations as set forth in the employee handbook and by management
  • report any maintenance or repairs needed to the executive chef
  • prevent spoiling and contamination of foods by implementing proper sanitation practices and ensuring compliance with policy and health regulations
  • consistently comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
  • stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure smooth service periods
  • maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including grills, broilers, fryers, and refrigeration equipment
  • provide excellent quality and presentation of all food to guests
  • execute menu items according to agreed-upon item specifications and presentation
  • produce food on a timely basis while exhibiting thorough knowledge of the menu
  • assist in daily cleaning of pantry, cooking line, prep kitchen, dish area, walk-in, and prep areas
