This job opportunity is for the position of Cook within Caesars Entertainment’s vibrant food and beverage team. The culinary role offers full-time employment with hourly compensation ranging from $18.50 to $19.00. Ideal for individuals passionate about the culinary arts and customer service, this position involves preparing and cooking menu items efficiently while maintaining high quality and safety standards. The cook will work in one of two exciting venues: Tortazo, a fast-casual Mexican eatery inspired by Michelin-starred Chef Rick Bayless, offering flavorful Mexican cuisine; or Cross Street Grill, a cozy spot famous for its delicious burgers, sandwiches, and sweet treats. It’s a fast-paced, customer-facing position requiring teamwork, dedication, and a keen knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
As a cook at Caesars Entertainment, you will be an integral part of delivering an exceptional dining experience. Key responsibilities include ensuring orders meet recipe guidelines, controlling food production with proper cooking methods, maintaining cleanliness and efficiency, and contributing to a warm and inviting atmosphere where every guest feels special. The position demands a thorough understanding of kitchen equipment, proper sanitation practices, and food safety protocols, including holding and cooking temperatures. Flexibility is important, as work schedules include swing and late swing shifts, featuring hours from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM and 7:00 PM to 3:30 AM respectively.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Culinary degree preferred
- Wide range of food knowledge
- Familiar with production, ala carte and fast-food cooking
- Must know proper cooking temperatures, holding temperatures and sanitation practices to ensure safe food handling and safe food products to guests
- Knowledge of all kitchen equipment including breakdown, set-up and sanitation
- Board of Health Sanitation Certificate in sanitation and food handling required
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays and weekends
- Great personality and a team-player attitude required
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs above and below shoulder level and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs
- Position requires 30% standing, 70% walking
- Requires frequent bending, pushing, twisting, kneeling, climbing, stooping and reaching overhead
- Must be able to respond to touch, speech, smell, aural and visual cues
- Must be able to work in an area containing secondary smoke
- Must possess coordination and dexterity to use kitchen utensils
- Must tolerate industry standard cleaning/sanitizing chemicals
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment involving constant internal and external customer contact
Job Qualifications

Job Duties

- Ensures each order is consistent with recipe and menu guidelines
- Controls food production and ensures proper cooking methods
- Completes work assigned in a timely manner to ensure freshness and quality

- Provides a consistent flow of product and service to our guests
- Ensures economical utilization of all products
- Acts as a role model and presents oneself as a credit to Harrah's and encourages others to do the same
