Job Description

Clarendale at Indian Lake is a distinguished senior living community dedicated to enriching the lives of its residents by fostering a warm, engaging, and supportive environment. Specializing in hospitality-focused senior care, Clarendale prides itself on creating a vibrant community where residents experience dignity, respect, and exceptional quality of life. As part of a larger organization that is committed to the future of senior living, Clarendale at Indian Lake invests heavily in both its residents and its employees, emphasizing professional growth, compassionate care, and superior service standards.

This position is for a hospitality-focused Line Cook who will play a crucial role in the Community Culinary Services Department. This role involves full-scope, hands-on production cooking with an emphasis on quality, cleanliness, and culinary excellence. The kitchen operates "restaurant-style," using POS systems to ensure smooth communication between servers and cooks for efficient meal preparation and delivery. Meals are carefully prepared, maintaining high standards for quality, appearance, and nutritional compliance, before being sent out to residents via an expo server. The cook will contribute to maintaining an organized, sanitized, and well-functioning kitchen environment that supports the health and happiness of senior residents.

The Line Cook will be engaged in preparing and serving menu cycle programs that comply with nutritional and dietary regulations, including specific diets tailored to individual residents’ needs. Speed, accuracy, and efficiency are essential qualities as the cook balances multiple cooking stations and meal orders. Additionally, the role involves physically assisting with meal serving and dishwashing tasks during busy periods, ensuring a seamless dining experience. The cook will periodically connect with residents to receive feedback on meal quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance, using this information to recommend and implement improvements to food service operations.

The ideal candidate will represent Clarendale at Indian Lake in a positive and inviting manner, contributing to a culture where business decisions and employee engagement collectively drive success. This full-time position offers a shift from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with 35 to 40 hours of work weekly, and a competitive wage ranging from $17 to $19 per hour depending on experience. Benefits include paid time off earned per pay period and a $1000 sign-on bonus. The community is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer, and all candidates will be subject to a drug screen, TB skin test, and background check as part of the hiring process. If you are passionate about hospitality, senior engagement, and delivering high-quality culinary experiences, Clarendale at Indian Lake welcomes your application and looks forward to an opportunity to work together.
