Job Description

Arrow Senior Living is a distinguished management company specializing in senior living communities across five states including Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Ohio, and Indiana. With a portfolio of 25 properties, Arrow Senior Living provides a broad range of care options such as independent living, assisted living, and memory care. Employing nearly 1,400 dedicated staff members, Arrow Senior Living emphasizes creating a supportive and home-like environment not only for their residents but also for team members. This culture of compassion and excellence is grounded in the company’s core values which significantly enhance the quality of life of their residents and foster employee satisfaction and growth.

The Fremont Senior Living, located in Springfield, Missouri, is currently seeking a full-time Cook to join their culinary team. This role provides an excellent opportunity for culinary professionals looking to grow with a company that values internal promotion and offers competitive compensation. The starting wage for this position ranges from $18.00 to $19.00 per hour and includes a sign-on bonus of $3,000, making it a financially attractive opportunity.

As a Cook at The Fremont Senior Living, you will embody the role of a Culinary Craftsman, ensuring all menu items are prepared according to established standards and recipes. Your objective will be to deliver exceptional quality food that is attractively presented and served in a timely manner. This role also involves maintaining strict health and safety protocols including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and adherence to food temperature guidelines to guarantee resident safety and satisfaction.

In addition to food preparation duties, the Cook serves as a Culinary Connector by developing familiarity with the residents’ preferences and dietary needs, helping personalize their dining experience. This position offers a dynamic and engaging work environment where you can contribute significantly to resident happiness and team camaraderie.

Working primarily from Tuesday through Saturday, 11:30 am to 7:15 pm, this position demands physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and handle frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds. The work setting will primarily be indoors but may occasionally require participation in outdoor events. Successful candidates must possess a current Food Handlers Card as mandated by the Department of Health, demonstrate leadership and communication skills, and be able to pass a criminal background check.

Arrow Senior Living places a strong emphasis on rewarding and supporting its employees. As part of the benefits package, full-time team members receive medical, dental, and vision insurance after 60 days of employment, along with disability insurance, life insurance, and paid time off. There is also a company match 401(k) plan with 100 percent match up to the first 3 percent contributed, employee assistance programs, tuition reimbursement, an employee referral program, and complimentary meals during shifts. Weekly employee recognition programs and options for daily pay and direct deposit further underscore the company’s commitment to its staff.

Beyond the tangible benefits, employees at The Fremont Senior Living enjoy a positive work culture where lifelong friendships are formed, and career growth is encouraged through internal promotions. This makes it an ideal workplace for culinary professionals passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors, while enjoying a supportive and fulfilling career.
