This role at Hoffbrau is designed for individuals passionate about culinary arts and eager to be part of a dynamic kitchen team. As a critical member of the kitchen staff, the employee will be responsible for setting up and preparing food stations according to restaurant standards, ensuring that all food items are prepared in a sanitary, timely, and efficient manner. The position demands a high level of organization for restocking items and maintaining cleanliness and safety at all times. Job Requirements

  • Required to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and some holidays
  • Required to purchase appropriate uniform upon hiring
  • Maintains a food handlers permit
  • This position will spend 100% of the time standing and working in congested areas
  • Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat, and water
  • Must be able to withstand continuous walking, standing, bending and climbing stairs
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds when needed
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and/or pull up to 35 pounds regularly
  • Smoking is not permitted on the premises

Job Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
  • Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
  • Previous prep or line cook experience
  • Proven ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
  • Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organized
  • Must be able to speak, read and understand basic cooking directions
  • Comprehensive understanding of the English language
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and managers

  • Cleans and maintains station in practicing good safety, sanitation, organizational skills
  • Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in station
  • Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas
  • Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the management team
