Known for its commitment to quality and an exceptional dining experience, 167 Hospitality operates several prominent establishments including 167 Raw Oyster Bar, 167 Sushi Bar, and Bar167. Each venue offers a unique culinary perspective with a strong focus on fresh, local ingredients and innovative preparations inspired by a mix of traditional and contemporary techniques. The 167 Sushi Bar, located on East Bay Street, is an intimate 24-seat restaurant renowned for its open concept kitchen where the culinary team works closely with the front of house to deliver an unmatched guest experience. This approach allows guests to witness the artistry and precision that goes into every dish, blending traditional Japanese cuisine with a seafood-driven menu that emphasizes seasonal produce and the freshest fish available. 167 Sushi Bar operates Monday through Saturday, offering lunch and dinner services and closing on Sundays as well as on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

The 167 Sushi Bar team is currently seeking a skilled line cook to join their dynamic kitchen staff. This full-time, hourly position offers competitive compensation with expected annual gross earnings between $50,000 and $65,000. The role involves working in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment within the hot kitchen, which functions in small teams. Team members operate across grill, fry, and sauté stations preparing an array of dishes including bao buns, yaki, tsukune, and karaage. At the sushi station, the precise creation of nigiri, sashimi, and maki plays a vital role in the restaurant's menu offering. The position requires full availability including day and evening shifts and some Saturday hours, reflecting the restaurant’s commitment to quality and consistent service. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • minimum of 1 year cooking experience
  • full availability and flexible schedule

  • able to stand for long periods of time
  • able to lift 50 plus pounds

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of cooking experience in a professional kitchen
  • knowledge of traditional Japanese cuisine and seafood preparation preferred
  • strong attention to detail
  • ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to manage multiple tasks during busy service periods
  • culinary school education is a plus but not required
