The role of Line Cook at Sonesta International Hotels offers a unique opportunity to contribute to this mission by ensuring that all food items meet Sonesta's high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, quality, taste, timeliness, and cost effectiveness. Working primarily indoors in a fast-paced kitchen environment, the Line Cook must be comfortable with frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and standing throughout their shifts, which primarily occur on Fridays and Saturdays from 6AM to 12PM, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts. This role demands physical endurance, including the ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds occasionally, as well as tolerate extreme temperatures such as those found in freezers or loading dock areas.

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing food orders accurately and efficiently while adhering strictly to recipes and safety guidelines. This position requires strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks under pressure to maintain the kitchen's smooth operation. The cook will operate kitchen equipment safely, handle and store food items correctly, and maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the workspace. Crucially, the Line Cook contributes to the overall guest experience by supporting the team with excellent communication and a positive, cooperative attitude.

Job Requirements

  • Relevant experience in restaurant or hotel food preparation preferred
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to tolerate extreme temperatures such as freezers and loading dock
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently to lift, carry, push or pull objects
  • Frequent bending, kneeling and reaching
  • Ability to stand during entire shift
  • Availability to work Fridays and Saturdays from 6AM to 12PM with opportunity to pick up additional shifts
  • Willingness to work ten to twelve hour shifts sometimes required
