Job Description

SSP America is a leading operator of food and beverage outlets, primarily located in travel venues such as airports and railway stations. Known for its dynamic portfolio of restaurant brands, SSP America emphasizes quality, convenience, and efficiency to serve the millions of travelers who pass through its venues each year. With a strong commitment to safety, customer service, and culinary excellence, SSP America manages a variety of foodservice operations that range from casual dining to quick-service restaurants. One notable location is the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), one of the busiest airports in the United States, where SSP America operates several brand concepts including Ballard Brew Hall, Mi Casa Cantina, Greedy Cow, Pei Wei, and Bad Egg, among others. These venues provide diverse dining options that cater to a wide spectrum of travelers, from quick bites to full meals, ensuring that quality and customer satisfaction remain at the forefront.

The role of Cook 2 at Ballard Brew Hall - located within Seattle-Tacoma International Airport - presents an exciting opportunity for experienced foodservice professionals. This role focuses on high-volume cooking with a strong emphasis on adherence to food safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for following detailed recipes, ensuring correct portioning, and preparing dishes that meet presentation standards. Working in a fast-paced, busy airport environment, the Cook 2 will handle the setup and organization of kitchen and workstations, including the management of fresh, dry, and frozen goods, condiments, and supplies. The position requires a hands-on approach to equipment maintenance and cleanliness, as well as daily management of perishable goods to maintain the highest quality products.

In addition to culinary duties, the Cook 2 will practice rigorous hygiene standards, using appropriate cleaning products and following procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations. Collaboration with management to ensure proper stock levels and orderly operations is key, alongside regular recording and reporting as per management's guidance. This role demands someone who is physically able to work on their feet for long hours in confined spaces and who can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. The position is full-time and offers a competitive wage of $26.36 per hour, immediate hiring opportunities, and paths for professional growth and advancement within the company.

Joining SSP America as a Cook 2 at Ballard Brew Hall means becoming part of a dedicated team committed to high standards in food preparation and service. Employees benefit from comprehensive training, an employee meal program, paid time off, and additional incentives such as holiday pay, retirement plans with company matching, and access to medical and voluntary insurance benefits. SSP America fosters an inclusive workplace culture and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with prior food service experience, a passion for culinary arts, and a strong commitment to food safety and customer satisfaction.
