Job Description
Vines Grille and Wine Bar is a distinguished upscale dining establishment renowned for its commitment to exceptional food quality, superior service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. At Vines, culinary excellence is not just a goal but a standard deeply ingrained in every aspect of our operation. Our scratch kitchen philosophy highlights our dedication to crafting every dish from fresh, high-quality ingredients to provide our guests with a memorable dining experience. With a focus on both classic and innovative culinary techniques, Vines has positioned itself as a beloved destination for guests seeking a refined yet approachable dining environment.
The role of the Line Cook at Vines Grille and Wine Bar is pivotal in upholding the high standards and culinary artistry that define our kitchen. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about food preparation and kitchen management to join a dynamic team dedicated to delivering excellence. As a Line Cook, the successful candidate will be responsible for the daily preparation of food items and meticulous station management, ensuring that every dish meets the Vines' recipes and standards. This role demands a strong work ethic, teamwork, and an acute attention to detail as cooks must manage the set-up, stocking, and organization of the kitchen, including walk-in coolers and storage areas.
The Line Cook’s responsibilities encompass managing food preparation areas with strict adherence to safe and sanitary food-handling practices. This includes regulating the temperature of ovens and other cooking equipment to guarantee food safety, ensuring freshness and quality by managing stock rotation, and preparing various food items—from baking and roasting meats and vegetables to seasoning according to precise recipes or with experienced judgment. The candidate will also be expected to assist with menu planning in coordination with supervisory staff, especially regarding cost considerations and special event needs.
This position demands excellent communication and collaboration skills, as teamwork is integral to the kitchen’s smooth operation. Additionally, the candidate should possess the physical stamina to handle the demanding nature of kitchen work, including standing for long periods, lifting heavy items, and maintaining composure in a fast-paced environment. Vines emphasizes growth and continuous quality improvement, making this a fantastic career opportunity for cooks who thrive in an upscale dining context and are eager to contribute to a vibrant culinary team.
