The company operates hotels that run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, ensuring round-the-clock service excellence and operational efficiency. Driftwood Hospitality Management focuses on hiring skilled professionals who contribute to the success of their properties through proactive behaviors and a dedication to service quality.
The role available is for a Front Line Cook specializing in broiled and sautéed food items preparation. This position is critical in maintaining high standards of food production and quality control for all meat, fish, fowl, and other food items prepared at the front line station of the kitchen. With a pay range of $21.00 to $24.00 per hour, the job demands expertise in food preparation, adherence to safety and sanitation standards, and the ability to work flexible shifts due to the hotel's continuous operational schedule.
As a Front Line Cook at Driftwood Hospitality Management, the selected candidate will prepare daily production lists, utilize math skills to follow recipes accurately, and ensure the consistency of menu items by preparing broiled and sautéed dishes according to standard recipes and guest specifications. The role requires physical capability, including the transportation of heavy food products, and the ability to inspect and select high-quality ingredients. The candidate will be responsible for controlling portion sizes, managing proper storage of products, and maintaining cleanliness of refrigeration, equipment, and work areas to comply with health department regulations.
In addition to food preparation duties, the Front Line Cook must keep accurate logs for cooling, heating, and temperature control, adhere strictly to all company policies, and follow defined safety and security procedures including fire prevention and emergency protocols. Use of protective equipment and reporting unsafe conditions or incidents to management are integral parts of ensuring a safe work environment.
The position requires maintaining a neat and well-groomed appearance according to company standards and collaborating with other kitchen personnel as needed. This demanding role also requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift heavy items, operate various kitchen equipment like stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, and kettles, and perform effectively in extreme temperature conditions and confined spaces.
Overall, this job offers an excellent opportunity for culinary professionals with experience in broiler and sauté cooking, who are looking to work in a vibrant, supportive hotel environment known for its client service and team-oriented culture. Candidates must have at least three years of cooking experience, preferably with broiler cooking, possess a current Food Handler Card, and have basic English language proficiency to communicate effectively with team members. Driftwood Hospitality Management offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, disability and life insurance, and employee discounts, making it an attractive employer in the hospitality sector.
