Parkwest Casino is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Line Cook to join their culinary team and help uphold the establishment's reputation for exceptional food and service. The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from USD 17.00 to USD 21.00, depending on experience and qualifications. This role is vital to the smooth operation of the kitchen and to delivering an outstanding dining experience to guests.

As a Line Cook at Parkwest Casino, the successful candidate will be instrumental in assisting the Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations. This position requires an individual who can maintain high culinary standards, comply with food safety regulations, and consistently deliver food that meets exacting presentation and quality criteria. The Line Cook's responsibilities include preparing, cooking, and presenting food items according to standardized recipes and ensuring all food is stored, handled, and prepared safely and hygienically. The role demands flexibility, a team-oriented mindset, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes confined kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts as part of the restaurant's commitment to excellent service during high-demand periods. In addition to strong culinary skills, the candidate must hold an active California Food Handlers Certificate/Card, comply with employment eligibility requirements, and successfully pass background and drug screening processes. Physical stamina is essential, as the role requires standing for long periods and lifting heavy items, among other physical demands. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
  • Culinary degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Open availability
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test and criminal background check
  • Active California Food Handlers Certificate/Card required for this position
  • Must be able to lift and carry tools, supplies, and inventory up to 100 pounds
  • Must be able to walk, stand, and bend at neck for 3 or more hours a day
  • Position will require repetitive use of hands for simple and power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling and reaching for entire shift
  • Position may require exposure to excessive noise, exposure to dust, gas, flames, chemicals, exposure to extremes in temperature, humidity or wetness
  • Must be able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodation

Job Duties

  • Ensure all food is prepared and presented in accordance with appropriate recipes and presentation on a consistent basis
  • Provide consistent safe and sanitary food storage, preparation, and cooking
  • Monitor and control maintenance and sanitation of the kitchen and equipment
  • Recognize and follow quality standards for meats, vegetables, fruits, dairy products, and grains, including proper storage
  • Effectively utilize leftovers and control waste
  • Be flexible and able to take direction
  • Work with others as a team player in a small confined space
