Job Requirements

  • Ability to grasp, lift, carry, or move goods weighing up to 100 lbs
  • manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment including knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, slicers
  • ability to work in extreme temperature ranges
  • ability to work in confined spaces
  • frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling

Job Qualifications

  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • 3 years cooking experience preferred, broiler cooking preferred
  • basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
  • good knowledge of broiler cooking fundamentals
  • good knowledge of sauté cooking fundamentals
  • good knowledge of sanitation standards
  • knowledge of operating kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, kettles
  • basic math skills to understand recipes, measurements, and portions
  • basic English language skills for communication and instruction
  • ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling
  • ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffee makers

Job Duties

  • Prepares daily preparation lists for production
  • reads and employs math skills to follow recipes
  • prepares all broiled and sautéed food items according to standard recipes and guest specifications to ensure consistency
  • visually inspects, selects, and uses only high-standard food items
  • checks and controls proper storage and portion control to maintain quality
  • keeps refrigeration, equipment, storage, and working areas clean and compliant with health regulations
  • maintains all logs related to cooling, heating, and temperature
  • adheres to company policies and safety procedures
  • knows fire prevention and emergency procedures
  • utilizes protective equipment
  • reports unsafe conditions and incidents to management
  • provides a safe work environment
  • maintains neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
  • performs any related duties requested by management
  • assists other kitchen personnel when needed
