The role of Line Cook at Belmont Village Senior Living is a full-time position that involves working Sunday and Monday from 6am to 2pm, and Tuesday through Thursday from 10am to 7:30pm. The Line Cook performs multi-functional duties related to food preparation, set-up, service, and clean-up within the community’s commercial kitchen. This role is crucial in maintaining the high quality of food that meets company recipes and standards, ensuring an excellent dining experience for seniors and their guests. The ideal candidate must be reliable, detail-oriented, and empathetic, thriving in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment. Collaboration and a growth mindset are highly valued traits in this role. The Line Cook is expected to prepare meals from scratch, adhere to portion controls, manage cook times, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and prioritize hospitality and resident satisfaction. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months Line Cook experience in a high volume restaurant setting
  • Proven success with basic culinary skills such as knife handling, accurate measurements and cooking methods
  • Ability to work assigned shifts including early morning, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Consistent and reliable attendance is essential
  • Clear communication skills in verbal and written English
  • Successful completion of State and Federal criminal background check, drug screen, job related physical and TB test

  • Consistent and reliable attendance

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals from scratch according to assigned recipe specifications and quality standards
  • Follow recipes, manage portion control and ensure attractive plate presentation
  • Properly manage cook times while preparing and efficiently managing several orders simultaneously
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen ensuring compliance with regulations, policies and procedures
  • Follow checklists and company procedures to ensure kitchen is stocked and well maintained at all times
  • Make hospitality, customer service, and resident satisfaction your top priorities in every interaction
