Working closely with the culinary leadership team, the candidate will engage in crafting menus that highlight seasonal ingredients and conceptual themes unique to the restaurant. The cook will assist the Chef in preparing and fabricating food products for the kitchen, dining room, banquets, and fine dining settings. This role also entails a passive leadership element, ensuring adequate production levels among kitchen staff.
The chosen candidate will have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a variety of cooking techniques including grilling, sautéing, and frying, while also developing their knife skills and familiarity with various kitchen equipment. There is a strong emphasis on consistency and quality in food preparation, as well as minimizing food waste through cross-utilization of ingredients. The cook's responsibilities include creating fully stocked workstations, preparing cutting and peeling duties, and maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen environment. Job Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- Ability to work a variety of day, night and weekend shifts
- Able to stand for long periods
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Willingness to work independently
- Active Food handler's certification or ability to get it
- 1-3 years of experience in a professional kitchen
- Strong organizational skills

Job Duties
- Develop knowledge and skills in various cooking procedures and methods such as grill, sauté and fry
- Experience using knives and various kitchen equipment
- Reach and recreate recipes
- Ensure consistency in all food preparation
- Minimize food waste through cross utilization
- Work with a world class culinary team
- Create workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Prepare ingredients for cooking including chopping and peeling vegetables and cutting meat
- Maintain a sanitized and orderly kitchen environment
- Ensure proper storage of food and other items
