Top Dawg Tavern is a family-owned and operated full-service casual dining restaurant that has been serving guests since 2013. This job opportunity is for the position of Line Cook, available on either a full-time or part-time basis. The Line Cook will be an integral member of the back-of-house team, responsible for food preparation and cooking based on the restaurant's high standards. While prior experience in cooking or similar roles is preferred, it is not mandatory as the company offers training for candidates who bring the right attitude and willingness to learn. Ideal candidates may have previous roles as a line cook, prep cook, grill cook, fry cook, chef, or other back-of-house restaurant positions, but enthusiasm and teamwork count heavily. The role involves setting up and stocking stations, preparing ingredients, cooking menu items in collaboration with kitchen staff, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. Job Requirements
- Prior experience in one or more of the following roles is highly desirable: line cook, prep cook, grill cook, fry cook, chef, restaurant crew member, restaurant team member or other part time BOH restaurant job
- positive attitude
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- ability to follow instructions accurately
- good communication skills
- willingness to learn and undergo training
Job Qualifications
- Proven cooking experience including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
- excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- familiar with industry’s best practices
Job Duties
- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- assist kitchen manager with daily tasks
- prepare food to the exact specifications and to set up stations for menu
- prepare food for service such as chopping vegetables, prepping meat, or preparing sauces
- cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- answer, report and follow the managers instructions
- clean up station and kitchen equipment
- stock inventory appropriately
- ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
