Job Requirements
- Capable of standing on a tile floor for an eight-hour shift
- Ability to see and hear or use prosthetics to perform job functions effectively
- Sufficient manual dexterity to operate kitchen equipment including slicers, choppers, processors, and knives
- Ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs
- Free of communicable diseases that could affect job performance
- Ability to work under moderate physical and emotional stress associated with food service
- Willingness to comply with safety protocols and hygiene standards
- Flexibility to adapt to changing conditions and work environments
- Availability for occasional training or company events travel
Job Qualifications
- 1-2 years experience in a similar position desired
- Culinary training a plus
- Basic kitchen knowledge
- Familiarity with food sanitation guidelines
- Knowledge of kitchen policies and procedures including opening, closing, shopping and prep lists
- Ability to execute basic knife cuts and prepare assigned egg dishes and sandwiches
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt
Job Duties
- Work collaboratively with front and back of house team members ensuring compliance with Senior Living Communities and Wellmore standards for quality presentation and portion control
- Adhere to all proper handling, HACCP, labeling, and storage protocols and ensure compliance with food service regulations
- Follow all safety protocols and consistently practice a culture of safety
- Maintain documentation of temperature charts and records
- Communicate openly and professionally with all community departments and Home Office support team
- Participate in planning and production meetings with the culinary team
- Attend and actively participate in required in-service training and education programs
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Executive Chef or Director of Dining Services
