The role of Kitchen Staff at Cinepolis USA is instrumental in consistently delivering high-quality food that complements the luxury movie experience. Reporting directly to the Kitchen Manager within the Operations Department, this non-exempt position involves vital culinary responsibilities that ensure guests enjoy delicious menu items prepared with precision and efficiency. Kitchen Staff must adhere strictly to established recipes, maintain cleanliness and safety standards at all times, and collaborate effectively with other team members to guarantee timely service.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of kitchen experience preferred, or willingness to start as dishwasher/prep cook
  • Must complete or hold ServSafe certification
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, and handle food frequently
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Capable of working in a noisy environment
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of professional kitchen experience preferred
  • Culinary training preferred
  • Experience including dishwashing, prep/cook, and expediting
  • Ability to follow recipes and safe food handling procedures
  • Proficiency in kitchen operations and execution
  • Knowledge of U.S. measurements, weight, and volume
  • Good communication skills with management and peers
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume setting

  • Flexibility to work holidays and weekends

Job Duties

  • Prepare menu items accurately and promptly as ordered through point of sale system
  • Make only items ordered and act with integrity
  • Accommodate special requests with management approval to create a tailored guest experience
  • Prepare dishes following established recipes to maintain quality and consistency
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure food is served timely and of high quality
  • Remake items when instructed by supervisors or managers
  • Adhere to food safety guidelines including temperature control, proper labeling, and cross contamination prevention
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness including dishwashing and work area sanitation
  • Stock kitchen areas with dry products and prep materials, restock as needed
  • Use FIFO system to keep food fresh and minimize waste
  • Maintain accurate waste logs for discarded items
  • Communicate inventory levels to supervisor and kitchen manager
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with coworkers and customers
  • Follow all safety procedures including use of protective equipment and safe lifting
  • Lock and secure food and equipment
  • Follow opening, mid, and closing procedures
  • Participate in trainings and meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned
