The line cook position at Cody's Restaurant Bar & Patio involves key responsibilities that contribute directly to the quality and consistency of the food served. Successful candidates will be tasked with producing dinner menu items efficiently while adhering strictly to the restaurant's recipes and portion control guidelines. This role requires attention to detail to minimize waste and uphold the standards that reflect the restaurant's commitment to value for money. The line cook must maintain clear and effective communication with front-of-house staff to address and swiftly resolve any issues arising during service. In addition to food preparation, the role demands strict maintenance of cleanliness and safety standards across all kitchen stations and equipment. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience working as a line cook or in a similar kitchen role
  • knowledge of kitchen safety standards
  • ability to stand for long periods and work under pressure
  • good communication skills

Job Duties

  • produce food items on the dinner menus
  • ensure that guests are always receiving an exceptional dining experience representing true value for money
  • communicate effectively with the FOH staff when issues arise either from their end or yours and find the quickest solution to the problem
  • ensure that all food items are prepared as per recipes while maintaining portion control and minimizing waste
  • ensure that product is of sufficient quantity and quality
  • maintain a clean uniform and always be presentable in guest view
  • ensure that all food preparation equipment is being used safely and correctly and that it is cleaned and maintained
  • ensure that a consistent, high quality product is achieved and maintained on all stations
  • ensure that all areas of the kitchen are kept clean and sanitized
  • communicate with delivery drivers about handling and quality of products as they arrive
