The role of Line Cook at SSP America is a vital position within the team, responsible for preparing delicious food orders with precision and care. Line Cooks play an essential role in maintaining the kitchen’s efficiency by ensuring that all stations are properly set up and stocked with the necessary ingredients and tools. In this role, a prospective candidate will be responsible not only for cooking and assembling menu items but also for maintaining the kitchen environment. This includes requisitioning and stocking supplies, handling and rotating products to ensure freshness, and conducting thorough cleaning of equipment and workstations. A Line Cook will complete opening and closing checklists, take ownership of product quality, and adhere to health and safety guidelines meticulously. The position requires stamina to work on feet for extended periods, strong communication skills to interact with team members and guests, and the ability to work efficiently within confined kitchen spaces.

Job Duties
- Follow all recipes and practice portion control to prepare, garnish, and present ordered items
- maintain proper and adequate set-up of the kitchen/station on a daily basis
- requisition and stock all required food, paper products, and condiments
- handle, store, and rotate all products properly
- responsible for set-up, regular maintenance, cleaning, and breakdown of machinery and equipment
- maintain stock, cutting, and storage of all perishables daily to ensure product quality
- complete opening, ongoing, and closing checklists as required
- take responsibility for quality of products served
- perform general and specific cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards
- other duties as assigned
