Line Cook

Position Summary

Line Cooks at Big Bear Brewing Co. play a key role in delivering high-quality, scratch-made food in a fast-paced brewery environment. This position requires consistency, teamwork, and pride in execution while supporting a busy, high-volume kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to Big Bear Brewing Co. recipes, portion standards, and plating guidelines
• Set up, stock, and break down assigned stations (grill, sauté, fry, pantry, etc.)
• Execute food orders efficiently during high-volume lunch and dinner service
• Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked workstations at all times
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health-department regulations
• Communicate clearly with fellow cooks, expediters, servers, and management
• Assist with daily prep, restocking, labeling, dating, and proper food rotation
• Handle kitchen equipment safely, including grills, fryers, ovens, slicers, and knives
• Support team members as needed to ensure smooth service and timely ticket times
• Uphold Big Bear Brewing Co.’s standards for quality, consistency, and teamwork

Requirements

• Previous line cook or kitchen experience required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment
• Strong attention to detail, timing, and food consistency
• Ability to follow recipes and kitchen procedures accurately
• Team-oriented, dependable, and able to take direction well
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn multiple stations
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40–50 lbs
• Valid food handler certification (or willingness to obtain)
