Job Description

Job Title: Line Cook

Reports to: Kitchen Manager / Sous Chef

Shift: 7 Am to close

Position Summary

We are looking for a disciplined and energetic Line Cook to join our culinary team. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes according to our recipes and specifications. The ideal candidate isn't just a "pro during the rush," but also a professional who understands that a clean, organized kitchen is the foundation of great food.

Key Responsibilities

1. Food Preparation & Service

  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies for the shift.

  • Prepare food for service (e.g., chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces).

  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.

  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion.

  • Maintain a high standard of plating and presentation.

2. Quality Control & Safety

  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.

  • Monitor product freshness and rotate stock using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.

  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

3. Shift-End Cleaning & Sanitation

  • Maintain a clean and organized station throughout the shift.

  • Post-Service Breakdown: Perform deep cleaning of your assigned station once service concludes.

  • Equipment Care: Clean and sanitize grills, fryers, ranges, and prep tables.

  • Storage: Properly label, date, and store all leftover food items.

  • Floor & Waste: Sweep and mop kitchen floors and dispose of trash/recycling as directed.

  • Ensure the kitchen is "reset" and ready for the morning prep crew.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience:  experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or Kitchen Assistant.

  • Technical Skill: Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.

  • Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to [50] lbs.

  • Certifications: Valid Food Handler’s Permit (or willingness to obtain one).

  • The "Closer" Mindset: A strong work ethic and the understanding that the shift isn't over until the kitchen is spotless.
