Job Description

Copper Vine is an innovative hospitality establishment that thrives in the fast-paced environment of downtown New Orleans. Known for its dedication to high standards in both service and culinary excellence, Copper Vine is part of the dynamic Brechtel Hospitality group. This organization distinguishes itself by cultivating a diverse and passionate team of individuals who are committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences through innovation and a strong work ethic. Brechtel Hospitality is recognized for its casual yet meticulous approach, balancing a warm, welcoming atmosphere with rigorous attention to detail in food quality, team dynamics, and customer satisfaction. Our team is dedicated not only to serving outstanding cuisine but also to fostering an environment where every employee and guest feels valued and inspired. The company celebrates diversity and inclusive hiring, focusing on talent, drive, and experience as the sole factors in team member selection, making it a vibrant and open workplace for all who share a passion for outstanding hospitality.

The role of Lead Line Cook (also referred to as the HOH Lead Line) at Copper Vine is a pivotal one within the Brechtel Hospitality team. This position goes far beyond basic kitchen duties, focusing on leadership, mentorship, and development of team members to ensure consistent delivery of the brand's high standards. As a Lead Line Cook, your primary responsibility is to teach, coach, and develop new and existing employees through a structured onboarding and on-the-job training program. This includes providing clear verbal and written communication to both management and team members to maintain streamlined operations and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Lead Line Cooks are entrusted with instructing classroom sessions, attending quarterly meetings, hosting or leading workshops, and keeping team members updated with the latest training materials and processes. The goal is to cultivate every new recruit into a certified HOH team member fully versed in the company’s recipes, standards, and values. This role requires a passionate and knowledgeable individual who can set the example for diligence, food safety, knowledgeability, and a positive attitude.

The job demands a commitment to excellence and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently, including scheduling flexibility across days, nights, weekdays, and weekends with an average of 50 hours per week. Lead Line Cooks have the unique opportunity to impact their teammates' success directly and the overall morale and atmosphere of the kitchen. They may also take on special roles such as serving as a New Store Opening HOH Lead, traveling to assist in launching new Copper Vine locations and contributing to the brand's growth. This position is essential to Brechtel Hospitality’s mission to become the finest and most innovative hospitality group in the city and beyond.

Alongside the professional challenges, Copper Vine offers substantial benefits like free meals before or after training shifts and scheduling preferences that align with the store’s best interests. Lead Line Cooks have the chance to actively develop their careers and those of their teammates, playing a hands-on role in the long-term success of the team and the business. If you are a motivated, patient, and effective communicator who excels in teaching and leading by example, this role will allow you to thrive while contributing meaningfully to an exciting hospitality company dedicated to excellence and innovation in New Orleans.
