The role of Line Cook at Belmont Village Senior Living is a full-time position designed for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced culinary environment and value creating delightful dining experiences. The Line Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting meals according to company recipes and quality standards, specifically catering to the residents and guests of the senior living community. Scheduled shifts typically include early mornings and afternoons from Sunday through Thursday, with part-time options available during evenings on select days. This position requires a reliable, team-oriented individual with excellent culinary skills and the ability to multitask under pressure. Beyond food preparation, the Line Cook must maintain hygiene and safety standards within the kitchen, ensure proper kitchen organization, and contribute to a warm, hospitable dining atmosphere.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Minimum of 6 months Line Cook experience in a high volume restaurant
  • Proven culinary skills including knife handling and accurate cooking
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including early morning, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Pass required background checks, drug screening, physical and TB test

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Professional, pleasant and team oriented attitude
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
  • Minimum of 6 months Line Cook experience in a high volume restaurant setting
  • Proven success with basic culinary skills such as knife handling, accurate measurements and cooking methods
  • Ability to work assigned shifts including early morning, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Consistent and reliable attendance
  • Successful completion of State and Federal criminal background check, drug screen, job related physical and TB test

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals from scratch according to assigned recipe specifications and quality standards
  • Follow recipes, manage portion control and ensure attractive plate presentation
  • Properly manage cook times while preparing and efficiently managing several orders simultaneously
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen ensuring compliance with regulations, policies and procedures
  • Follow checklists and company procedures to ensure kitchen is stocked and well maintained at all times
  • Make hospitality, customer service, and resident satisfaction your top priorities in every interaction
