The role of Line Cook at Belmont Village Senior Living is a vital position within the community’s commercial kitchen, directly contributing to the residents’ dining experience. This position involves preparing meals from scratch while adhering to company recipes and quality standards that ensure excellent food presentation and taste. The Line Cook demonstrates culinary proficiency, efficient multitasking, and superior attention to detail in an environment that demands speed and accuracy. As a Line Cook, you will work primarily on Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, supporting meal preparation and kitchen readiness during these key service hours. Experience working in high-volume kitchens with strong basic culinary skills—such as knife handling, portion control, and cooking methods—is essential. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Professional, pleasant and team oriented attitude
- Must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
- Minimum of 6 months line cook experience in a high volume restaurant setting
- Proven success with basic culinary skills such as knife handling, accurate measurements and cooking methods
- Ability to work assigned shifts including early morning, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
- Consistent and reliable attendance is essential for all Belmont Village employees to ensure the successful operation of the community
- All offers of employment are conditional based on the successful completion of a State and Federal criminal background check, drug screen, job related physical and TB test
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 months line cook experience in a high volume restaurant setting
- Proven success with basic culinary skills such as knife handling, accurate measurements and cooking methods
- Professional, pleasant and team oriented attitude
- Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
Job Duties
- Prepare meals from scratch according to assigned recipe specifications and quality standards
- Follow recipes, manage portion control and ensure attractive plate presentation
- Properly manage cook times while preparing and efficiently managing several orders simultaneously
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen ensuring compliance with regulations, policies and procedures
- Follow checklists and company procedures to ensure kitchen is stocked and well maintained at all times
- Make hospitality, customer service, and resident satisfaction your top priorities in every interaction
