About the Role: This particular role is for a Part-Time Line Cook working Friday and Saturday from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, and Sunday from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm, at one of Belmont Village Senior Living’s community kitchens. The position involves performing a variety of food preparation tasks, including cooking, meal assembly, and kitchen maintenance, while adhering to company recipes and food safety standards. The Line Cook will play a critical role in ensuring that meals are prepared freshly and presented attractively to enhance the dining experience of the senior residents and their guests.

The ideal candidate is reliable, takes pride in their work, and demonstrates genuine empathy toward seniors. Success in this role requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and the physical stamina to manage multiple production stations simultaneously. The Line Cook will collaborate closely with other kitchen staff to maintain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen environment according to all company policies and health regulations.

In addition to culinary skills, the Line Cook will prioritize hospitality and customer service in every interaction, making resident satisfaction their top goal. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months line cook experience in a high volume restaurant setting
  • Proven success with basic culinary skills such as knife handling, accurate measurements and cooking methods
  • Ability to work assigned shifts including early morning, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Consistent and reliable attendance is essential
  • Successful completion of a State and Federal criminal background check, drug screen, job related physical and TB test
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
  • Professional, pleasant and team oriented attitude

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals from scratch according to assigned recipe specifications and quality standards
  • Follow recipes, manage portion control and ensure attractive plate presentation
  • Properly manage cook times while preparing and efficiently managing several orders simultaneously
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen ensuring compliance with regulations, policies and procedures
  • Follow checklists and company procedures to ensure kitchen is stocked and well maintained at all times
  • Make hospitality, customer service, and resident satisfaction your top priorities in every interaction
