Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Culinary Arts or Culinary Apprenticeship preferred
  • One or more years cooking in a fast-paced, cook to order kitchen preferred
  • One or more years experience with scratch cooking preferred
  • Sauté and/or broiler experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write and understand English
  • Sufficient manual dexterity of hands and arms to use all kitchen equipment and utensils
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull and work continuously without sitting for extended periods
  • Ability to lift or carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform essential functions within varying temperature ranges

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare food items such as meats, vegetables, potatoes, bread products, and desserts
  • Ensure quality and quantity control of all food produced at the station
  • Model The Sterling Touch® standards by being professional, friendly, courteous, helpful, and timely
  • Follow community standards, processes, procedures, practices, and philosophy under the guidance of the Executive Chef
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in the kitchen area
  • Assist in training and supporting kitchen staff as needed
  • Follow recipes and special dietary instructions accurately
