Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous kitchen experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Basic English communication skills
  • Willingness to follow kitchen safety protocols
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items
  • Must pass a background check if required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a line cook or similar role preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen sanitation
  • Ability to follow recipes and portion control standards
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and other kitchen equipment
  • Assume full responsibility for quality of products served
  • Comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and kitchen policies
  • Stock and maintain sufficient food levels at line stations
  • Portion food products prior to cooking according to specifications
  • Maintain clean and sanitary work stations and equipment
  • Prepare items by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning or marinating
  • Follow proper plate presentation and garnishing
  • Handle, store and rotate products properly
  • Assist in food preparation during off-peak periods
  • Close the kitchen and follow closing checklists
  • Assist others in kitchen closing
  • Attend employee meetings and contribute improvement suggestions
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
