Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 1 year experience in banquet serving or food industry
  • proficiency in culinary skills and food safety
  • ability to work under pressure
  • excellent communication skills
  • readiness to work flexible hours including weekends
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • evangelical Christian commitment
  • pass background check, drug test, and motor vehicle authorization
  • maintain professional appearance and attitude

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of experience in banquet serving, food industry, and inventory oversight
  • strong culinary skills with experience in a professional kitchen environment
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • excellent knife skills for food preparation
  • ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues

Job Duties

  • Warmly greet all guests including visitors, volunteers, vendors, employees, guests, donors, homeless men, women, and children, community groups, church groups, and public officials
  • establish and build healthy Christ-honoring relationships with guests while maintaining professional boundaries including guest confidentiality
  • maintain an environment of love, grace, dignity, and respect
  • prepare, serve, and cook healthy food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner shifts
  • inspect and clean food preparation areas such as equipment, work surfaces, and serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
  • assure health department standards are being followed
  • assist and oversee assigned volunteers including training, monitoring, evaluating, and general interaction
  • assist with kitchen cleaning
  • provide weekly reports as directed
  • attend staff devotions, community meetings, and staff meetings as directed by the Kitchen Manager
  • attend professional training and networking opportunities as directed
  • provide coverage for other shifts as needed
  • perform other duties as assigned
