Job Requirements
- Ability to move throughout the dining room effectively
- ability to lift and carry serving trays weighing up to 15lbs and bus tubs weighing up to 40 lbs
- ability to perform reaching and stooping motions
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar culinary role is preferred
- knowledge of culinary techniques including knife skills, cooking methods, and food preparation
- ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality
- strong communication and teamwork skills
- positive attitude and a passion for culinary arts
- availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- culinary school or related certification is a plus
Job Duties
- Prepare ingredients and follow established recipes to ensure accurate portioning and consistent quality of dishes
- execute cooking techniques and methods to prepare a variety of menu items including grilling, sauteing, frying, roasting, and plating dishes for service
- maintain high standards for food quality, taste, and presentation
- conduct quality checks at every stage of preparation
- coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient preparation and delivery of orders during busy service periods
- adhere to food safety and sanitation standards including proper storage, labeling, and handling of ingredients and equipment
- assist in monitoring and managing inventory levels, ensuring ingredients are stocked and notifying the kitchen manager of any shortages
- collaborate with fellow cooks, chefs, and kitchen staff to create a positive and efficient work environment
- ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and kitchen policies
