Job Requirements
- Must have at least 1 year of professional kitchen experience
- Culinary training preferred
- Ability to stand on feet for extended periods
- Ability to walk, lift, twist, bend, reach, and handle food products frequently
- Ability to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends
- Ability to follow food handlers safety guidelines
- Must complete ServSafe training provided if certification is not present
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with supervisors and coworkers
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to handle stressful situations positively
Job Qualifications
- At least 1 year of professional kitchen experience preferred
- Culinary training preferred
- Experience with dishwashing, prep, cooking and expediting
- ServSafe training certification preferred or must complete company provided training
- Proficiency in kitchen operations
- Working knowledge of U.S. measurements, weight and volume
- Ability to follow instructions on safe use of cleaning materials
- Effective communication skills with management and coworkers
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage time efficiently
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to walk, lift, twist, bend, and handle food frequently
- Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations positively
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus but not required
- Flexible working hours including holidays and weekends
Job Duties
- Prepare menu items accurately and promptly when ordered through point of sale system
- Make items only as ordered through point of sale system, maintaining integrity
- Accommodate special guest requests with management approval
- Prepare dishes according to recipes to maintain quality and consistency
- Cook menu items in cooperation with kitchen staff to ensure timely and high-quality food delivery
- Remake items when instructed by Supervisor or Manager
- Adhere to food handlers safety guidelines including temperature control, labeling, and cross-contamination prevention
- Maintain cleanliness by washing dishes and cleaning work area during and at the end of shift
- Keep kitchen stocked with dry products and prep materials, restock as needed
- Use FIFO system to keep food fresh and reduce waste
- Maintain waste logs accurately
- Update supervisor and kitchen manager on inventory levels
- Maintain positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
- Work safely using appropriate protective equipment
- Lock and secure food and equipment
- Follow all opening, mid and closing procedures
- Attend and participate in trainings and meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
