Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food preparation or related kitchen duties preferred
  • Ability to follow recipes and portion standards accurately
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Availability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards per check from servers
  • Start food items that are prepared ahead of time without over preparing estimated needs
  • Date all food containers and rotate as per Crescent standards ensuring perishables are kept at proper temperatures
  • Check pars for shift use determining necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up
  • Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages and assist in keeping buffet stocked
  • Return all unused food items on next shift to designated storage areas, covering and dating all perishables
  • Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct food cost problems, control food waste, loss and usage per Crescent standards
  • Operate, maintain and properly clean kitchen equipment including deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron and flat top grill
  • Comply with attendance rules and be regularly available to work
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
